For sale at the Fred Pierce Drum Studio in Overland, Missouri...

A 18/12/14 SlingerLeedy in MARDI GRAS with a matching 5x14 snare. In really nice, albeit dirty, condition. It is mising the bass hoop inlay, but that's about it.

Fred is gonna ask at or near $2K.

Enjoy.

I don't think I can explain how SHOCKED I was to see these. I went in there to look at some hi hats. The second I walked through the door, a member of the staff syas to me, "We know you're a Ludwig guy and all, but take a look at these...".

Seriously. I'll never see a set like this again. I really, really wanted them, but in truth, I have no practical use for them. And even if I did, I mean, I'd never gig with them. To a SlingerLeedy fan, or even a Mardi Gras fan, this about as close to a Holy Grail kit as you could hope for, really. I also think that they are nicely priced.

This beauty has been sold. A member here tipped of a friend of his, and the guy bought it yesterday. I am very happy that it went to a good home (like I knew it would).

From Ludwig von Buzzthoven

Thank you L-Buzz,

I saw the posted drums and realized they would be perfect for a nice little sunday night gig I have playing some Zydeco, Cajun, New Orleans, with an occasional Forro and Cumbia. Though it really wouldn't take to much reasoning to buy this set, they're beautiful.

I called Fred, a very nice fellow, and told him that I will send my friend and local SlingerLeedy Mardi Gras expert for that area, Marty Monson, to check out and pick up the drums. This will also be a great way to squeeze Marty into coming to big Chicago Show to personally deliver the drums.

Marty is one of those guys with many years of hands on experience in the drum biz and he can deliver the right answer faster than a pants down phart.

(I just wrote that?).

P.S. Now I'm looking for a Mardi Gras hoop strip.

I sort of know Marty from when he worked at Drum HQ.
