Hey congrats on the kit. Haven't seen Marty in years. Could you PM me his contact info? I think I have a resto project for him. Thanks!

Thanks All, And especially thanks to L von B and The Vintage Drum Forum

{What is this, an acceptance speech?). Actually, this worked out very well and

proves just one of the many values of a well run forum with run well members.

Marty will be hauling the little kit to the Chicago Show so it will be hanging out at my spaces with a lot of other cool stuff.

Remember, Mardi Gras is "Party at night" and Fiesta is "Party during the day".

Beautiful drums! And guess what? I've got your set's twin sister!

I'd be curious to see more photos when you finally get them in your hands!

Kyle,

That's Mike L's old set...Beautiful! You can probably just drive to S.St.Paul after the Big Show and look at the drums in person unless you still live in CO?

Joe!

Sorry, I didn't recognize your username! When the drums make it to Minnesota, I'll bring mine over and we'll compare notes and tones. Perhaps we can even play some duets. Everything about these drums is cool: lugs, finish, and sizes. I really enjoy being able to play such beautiful drums.

It's hard to believe that there are two sets like this in the world, and even harder to believe that next month they will have both somehow ended up in Minneapolis/St. Paul. I believe the original owner of mine lived in Colorado Springs, I wonder what the history of yours is?

Interestingly, Joe and I both have strong ties to the same small, cold lake right outside of the same small, cold Northern Minnesota town. The flora may have already bloomed down here in the Twin Cities, but ~12" of heavy, wet snow fell on that town last weekend (April 15.) I wonder what it is about Ely Lake that makes a man want to own a Leedy bop kit in Mardi Gras Pearl?

We should try to find this little gal and get her in on the party, too!
