Your Birthday Date Stamped Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Very cool John. I would have kept that. Did you buy it specifically because it had your birthday stamped inside or did you find that out later?

I only found out later after I had a chance to take the drums apart for detailing. The kit now belongs to Mike Layton and oddly enough, his wife Anna and I were born on the same day! So it's still a birthday drum!

If it had been the exact day, month and year of my birth, I would have kept them. :D

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Not sure if I even knew about that date stamp! So you were born in 49. The drum was born in 59. And Anna was born in 69! I'd say that has it covered. I'll be sure to let her know about that. Too cool! That would be this one....

I had a blue sparkle Downbeat that was dated Aug. 31, 1960, which was a Wednesday. I was born on the following Monday, Labor Day, 1960. Closest I have ever gotten.

I would be happy for the chance to own Rogers Dyna-Sonic 9560

It seems to me this concept might give rise to a well-placed trade or two...? If the drums are equal and you've got each others' birth date stamps....

Great idea. Let's find one stamped with Ringo's Birthday and see if he'll trade us.

I had a Ludwig and Ludwig snare drum date stamped August 1940, one month after Ringo was born. I gave him the drum for his 70th birthday.

Did he give you anything in return? Even a nice thank you note?

Maybe he'll leave you his gold-plated supra in his will. :D

I have an Acrolite Stamped April 7th 1971, just 3 months shy of my birth date, which is January 8th 1971.. I'm still searching for a 70's Ludwig bowling ball oyster blue kit with that exact date, or close to it.. Either that a or a blue sparkle..
