Some people will make a buck at any cost and it looks like-at the expense of this wonderful piece of drum history. To break up any set little alone this one is an absolute shame, but then...most of them are shameless anyway.Nothing we can do about it,but stand on the side lines.

When you think about the effort some refurbishers go through piecing together a vintage set... hunting down and assembling individual drums with the correct finish, hardware, and serial numbers, only to have it split up and orphaned off. It's a real shame. It's even more heartbreaking to see an original, matched set like this one split up. It's no different that putting a bass drum together from a bare shell, taking the expense to put all the correct hardware and hoops on it, only to sell it to someone who then disassembles it and sells it for parts on ebay, negating all your hard work. This happened to me. Guess we can't control what someone does with our projects once we sell them.

Odd. It's usually the other way around. The seller keeps the snare and sells the rest of the set. Nice looking drums, regardless.

If I was a serious collector and really wanted this drum I would contact the seller and offer him a deal he could not refuse.....for the entire kit...if indeed the kit goes together = has the same badges etc. Ya, why try to sell it off this way?? Gawd.....I hope my 649 lottery numbers come up tonight. The snare....the entire kit....would be fun to play and a very nice part of Ludwig drum history. NICE!
