That is beautiful. How was this two-tone pearl manufactured?Kurt, what's the purpose of the white fabric between the snares and the reso heads on your snares? Is this just to eliminate sympathetic snare vibration, or is this some kind of protection for long term storage?

That's just paper to keep the snares from buzzing while other instruments are playing. It keeps that extra noise down pretty good!

WFL catalogued a duco/wmp finish but they offered blue duco over wmp and red duco over wmp. I have never seen the finish on mine catalogued anywhere. I found the drum on CL needing a bunch of parts. Fortunately I was able to use a white enamel one as the doner. The white one had structural issues and the finish was kind of messed up. It was worth using it to restore the duco.

Hey All,

Wow, didn't know you were talking about me behind my back. I actually posted the snare at an unreasonably high price so I could get interest on the whole kit and deal outside of Ebay... Guess it worked!

I do want to sell the whole kit, due to a house project that went WAAAAY over budget. These are stunning drums, I have played them a lot in my little studio.

I hope they go to a good home that will play them as well. If there was a Ludwig museum, these deserve to be there, but they should be played.
