Absolutely love it!
1968 Downbeat Doors Kit Value Last viewed: 1 minute ago
Honestly when I was seriously thinking about it I was planning to give up around $3000.00. Even then that is a lot of money but the public opinion won out as the set sold for $4000.00. I'm guessing the public has decided not to go much more than $4000.00 though as this has been listed several times now. As much as I want one, I don't have $4000.00 to spend. My wife thinks I'm nuts already because I have a 69,22,13,16 with added 1968 14x14 as well as a 1971 clubdate. Still the downbeat is something I have lusted after since the late 80's.
wflkurt!
First, your kits are fantastic! Next, thanks for your honest assessment of the current value of the Mod Orange Downbeat kit. Unless it's the lighting, I just don't see that much purple in this kit. I'll be interested to see how much lower he goes. Can't help but think he needs to unload it and, overall, values have come down on most vintage kits.

Thanks for the nice compliments guys. Actually I think that downbeat set seems to have a good amount of purple in them. My clubdate set is really faded as is the top of my super classic bass drum. If you flip the bass drum over on the 1969 set the color looks brand new! The 14x14 from 1968 I was blessed enough to find is actually in quite good shape. The color is pretty strong. I must say though I don't mind faded mod orange all that much. Psych red though is another story. I don't care for psych red when the greens are gone as it just makes the set look red white and blue.
