'53 Leedy & Ludwig Kit Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hola Amigos,

I'll get better pics up and post in the gallery but couldn't wait to share my newest score...an all-original 1953 Leedy & Ludwig kit 12/16/22 with matching snare! I believe this baby spent pretty much its entire life in cases as the condition is amazing! She came with everything in the picture, including all original calf heads, 15" 1950's Zildjian crash, Buck Rogers snare stand and WFL Speed King! I'm a happy guy right now...

I love that kit! That was just on eBay, right? I admired it while it was up with no intention of bidding. I just like looking at pretty drums.

Congrats!

Dave...yeah...these were on eBay and I couldn't resist! Worked out a deal with the guy.

Mike...I have no plans on selling these...although I said that about the '49 Leedy kit I had. I sold those a few months back to raise some scratch so I could buy my house last year...but have been crying about it ever since. These kinda made up for it!

Probably gonna sell my '57 Slingerlands, though. I guess I'm more of a Leedy/Ludwig guy anyway...

Thanks! It's the original Leedy & Ludwig calf head stamp.

You lucky, lucky dog! I don't know how I missed this thread. Those are some rare and beautiful drums. Highest quality materials and build. I can almost hear them in the photo.

You did real good, mi hermano! -Real- good. I'm turquoise with envy!!! LOL

John

PS - Get some air-cushioned/Isolation rubber feet for the floor tom and the bass drum asap!

Too many great drums to list here!

Gracias, Juan. I knew what the kit was when I was looking at it and just had to make a deal happen...luckily I did!

I'm pretty stoked...not gonna lie. Oh...and I bought some of those feet for my '58 Ludwig kit and they are the best! I'll have to look into ordering some more.
