I was googling "top hat and cane" and saw a site that said "there were only 15 original top hat and cane sets left in the world." Anyone know if this is true? Also does any maker make a top hat and cane wrap for sale?Curtis

someone makes or at least made some recently. ive got a buddy that had a set done by dennis stauffer before he passed away.

Shoot. If he was 92 and rockin' that kit, I would have followed him to the parking lot and see what he drove there in!!! Probably something sweet as all get out!Car Driving2Car Driving2Car Driving2Cool1Cool1

I belive Andy at Drummaker has replicated that wrap pretty successfully. The images I saw looked great. Some may disagree however, but I would start there. With his custom color process you could get the pearl as "aged" as you wanted.

You gotta get some pictures of that kit! That is so very cool. Clapping Happy2

I met a very old fellow at a music store auction a few years back that played at a senior center (Olivedale in Lancaster, Ohio). He didn't play a vintage kit but his promise was to keep playing until he could no longer move the kit in and out of the senior center.

Maybe I should try to get my dad playing again... he's 85 and every now and again he likes to sit down at the kit for a little while.

Not a Guru... just interested..

Jim, So right about senior's drummers they can show you a few things on the drums and the story's they tell you...On a side note years ago when i was 21-1981- i met a senoir drummer who became a very good friend over the years his name was Arno Layman he went to drummers heaven on 2000.Are friendship was one of the best ones in my life.He told me so many storys showed me alot of the 30's-40's drumming.I got to meet alot of older players in Hollywood,ca...and on and on.He played a 3 pc set a Ludwig 60's W.M.P. 22 bass,9x13 no name tom and a 60's Ludwig W.M.P. snare a set of h-h,a ride and a crash and a wood block and cow bell...He used for a seat the snare drum case..I was lucky to get his set when he passed away..I can go on and on about are friendship.....Mikey
