What year were the Rogers canister thrones introduced? I think I'd like to try one. I have a roc n soc seat but can never get 100% comfy on it playing. My son has a DW throne that's a bit better and the seat about 13" width. Is that 24" height include the cushion? I'm sure me and a gazillon others are looking for a Rogers canister in WMP. :D Tommy P man that throne is mint mint mint!!! Love the case too. You have the BEST gear. And BR snare collection too.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

THANKS Glenn!... it's a curse I tell ya!
... the total height is INCLUDING the cushion. Rogers is the tallest at 24", and I have seen Rogers at 23", as well as Ludwig. I'd have to check the height of Slingerland's, but either way, the total height is inclusive of the cushion.

Excellent Tommy thank you! Sounds like that would be perfect for me. I sit at 22"-23" normally. Should work well. Whoever restored your throne did a fantastic job! Spot on cushion too. It'll be a little late time wise adding one to my kit. But they are just too cool. Always wanted one since I was a young man. Search begins. :D

Tommy.... You have been gigging with your throne for awhile. I would be interested in your thoughts re comfort and ergonomics. I know once I got used to mine, it is hard to go back to a standard throne.
I have one on my 66 super classic. It's just right
Ran across a decent canister on the eBay today, no affiliation.

Hoping to eventually find one that matches my kit.
I was once thrown out of a canasta game .. Laughing H

Getting back to my inquiry about stability you guys. That's great to hear that they stand up in their practical use as much as their coolness. I've often wondered about it, and I'm soon to get some new drums for my, ah-hem, "modern" set-up, and I might be tempted to get the builder to make a matching canister for them. I'm fed up with modern throne's. They are great for fine adjustment but I've had enough of them loosening off all the time and spinning about.
So are these thrones 13" dia on average? I wonder what the optimum height in relation to the inside leg to should be(like any seat height I guess).
