Getting back to my inquiry about stability you guys. That's great to hear that they stand up in their practical use as much as their coolness. I've often wondered about it, and I'm soon to get some new drums for my, ah-hem, "modern" set-up, and I might be tempted to get the builder to make a matching canister for them. I'm fed up with modern throne's. They are great for fine adjustment but I've had enough of them loosening off all the time and spinning about. So are these thrones 13" dia on average? I wonder what the optimum height in relation to the inside leg to should be(like any seat height I guess).

gecko!

13" seems to be the "standard" seat size with all the companies, and truly... you wouldn't need anything larger, generally speaking. I'm sure there are exceptions! Course, if you are contemplating having one custom built, you can design whatever you want, bearing in mind that the canister throne STARTS with a raw/unfinished "tube" that drums are made from, ie: You could have a 14" if you so desired ... but really, it's not needed. Stability is truly a non issue. Complete and total stability with these... and at the default 13" circumference. Height...

... is generally between 21" and 23" .. but again .. if you're going custom made, you can have whatever height you want from 24" down, as I believe that is the size of an unfinished "tube".
