I was looking on the Goodwill auction site this evening and came across an ad for a Biman snare drum. Must admit I hadn't heard of this brand before, so I checked it out.

These are not rare. I've seen many Biman snares. The only thing I don't understand is why Biman owners mount their snares and reso heads on the top of the drum, and the batter on the bottom. Curious.
