Biman Drums Last viewed: 2 minutes ago

From vintage drum bug

Is it true that BIMAN airlines constructed the planes out of recycled aluminum from unsold drums?

You mean "Bimalloy"?

I'm no expert on Bimans but, don't chrome over aluminum shells tend to "pimple"? If that is the case, wouldn't that cause a bit of drag on the plane? Just curious. Maybe the slight delay would be worth the low fees.

Biman make great drumsthey,re just a littke backwards

I've heard that they make really good left-handed drums!

I read in one of those industry mags that they are working to develop a virtual kit that when played sounds like you are playing it backwards (like rolling tape backwards) a very cool sudio trick where it has the attack at the end of the note. Now you don't have to rent a studio to record that! Amazing how Biman is making great strides - the most innovative drum company out there! Also, rumor has it they are going to stop outsourcing to Asia (or India is it?) and start making their drums here at home at their Eornom, SC plant - but then that just might be some kind of marketing stunt!

I heard there is a company called Ludwing (or something like that) that is trying to imitate Biman. I hope nobody gets fooled - but there always are suckers:(

I think I recall this company also had some drums that were very popular drums in the 80s called Jazzers - but I may be wrong. They were really creative in their marketing efforts. A friend of mine had one of their snares - can't reall exactly what it was called - it was grey - blacklite, maglite, budlite - something like that. They were typically found in alot of schools - and less in the studios, because the studios could not afford them.

He had some omeR heads on it and it sounded pretty decent - passable.

Strange strange time those 80s!
