Looking good.

So, the 18 was cut in the middle?

Does it come apart? Pics of the 18 sir?

Nice Job. Jerry would approve.

Ya, The 18 was split into two. luckily, not too much meat was lost. They evidently ran it as two different floor toms. There's a pic of the 18 sitting next to the 13. Look close. you can't miss the slice.lol. It too will have to be tinted a little. I'm not too worried about that one matching though. It will sit in the back.

Sir, what is your tinting material and process?

I am the guy that gave Greg the formulae for Mean Green, that I got from Jerry.

I know having that color put in spray cans is not cheap.

What did you use and how did you apply?

That 24 BD is beautiful.

Jerry also hooked me up with a Monomer filler that is close to Blaemire green. Good for smaller holes. And.....it glows in the dark.

Thanks

I appreciate that. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a straight answer to what it was. So i started looking at local spray paints. Rustoleum key lime is what i went with. I also got green apple which was pretty close too. I hazed a little on from 2 feet away.lol. Didn't like it. Wiped it off with a clean rag and reducer. Did that three times. After removing it the third time, i noticed it was staying somewhat greener. I'm guessing because the resin is minutely porous. So i went with it. We'll see how it looks when i get hardware on it.

actually ya. I bought it back from Gary a while back.

I would have had four Blaemire snares if I didn't sell one to Jason and swap with TommyP. I still have the main one that I'll never get rid of. The one I got from Jerry.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Great drums, great job so far. I've been dying to do this to my kit. I have a 71' that Allen wrapped in solid black with Ludwig Hardware. If I could get these buggers back to the green glass shells I'd be a happy camper. Enjoying watching your process can't wait to see em all done.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

What is monomer filler? I'm not familiar.

Jerry Jenkins made kids retainers at one point in his career.

Yeah, the wires and the mouth plate.

He made the plates, (looks like plastic) out of a polymer powder and a monomer liquid activator.

He showed me how he filled holes in Blaemire Green shells with

the powder and the liquid.

He helped me get some glow in the dark green polymer powder and the activator liquid from his supplier.

Nail salons use this product too. To build up and color nails.

One of the BIG SMELLS in Nail Salons is Monomer Liquid.

You can buy the powder in various colors, I think from a nail salon distributor.

HOW TO USE IT:

If you have a hole in a shell you want to fill.

Clean hole edges with file and acetone on a Q-tip.

Place blue tape on the inside of shell over hole.

Apply monomer liquid to edge of hole with small paint brush.

Fill hole with polymer powder from a squirt tube bottle. (Hair Salon Color Applicator)

Then brush the liquid onto the powder into the hole.

It soaks in and becomes hard as a rock after an hour.

It might take 3 applications to fill entire hole.

You can build it up right away.

After 1 minute, smooth over filled hole with cardboard or a putty knife.

It is hard to sand when it cures, so smooth it out while it is still pliable.

I am still using the containers I got through Jerry.

See pic of product.

I think we can get this product even though we are not dentists or hair salon professionals.

Well, I am not. Are You???

Go to JBC and Company.com

It is a sight for orthodontists.

The products are still available.

I just don't know if you need a dental license to buy.

Maybe not.

Where are you located sir?

Perhaps you can visit my shop.

Just like Jerry let me do when I was starting out.
