What heads are you running? If it was me, I'd run coated Vin Emps for batters on the 13 an 16 , clear Ambs resos. Evans EMAD (single ply) batter for bass drum, single ply reso, with a felt strip if needed.

Ya, I'm gonna try coated amb next. I've got a lot of heads laying around.. evans g2 coated, coated emperors. Pinstripes, black dots. The fun is just beginning.

Your shell patching piece will go out in the mail tomorrow.

Just cut it out of a larger donor piece.

Just got that whiff of FG smell.

Ahh..brings back happy memories.

If you do have monomer/polymer liquid and powder to glue patch piece in,

you can glue it in with Baking Soda and Super Glue.

Clean hole with acetone.

Tape inside of shell with blue tape.

Place fill piece in hole.

Lightly push baking soda into voids at seams of patch.

You can tint Baking Soda with any green powder you might have.

I tried Comet. It works but too light in color.

Still looks OK without tinting the soda powder.

Apply/pour superglue over baking soda at seam.

Smooth with a matchbook or plastic putty knife.

Dries very hard.

Dude! Thank you! I actually saved a jar full of sanding dust when I leveled the bearing edges of the toms, it has a green tint so I'll ise that.

I finally got my bass hoops last night! So put together right away and tuned it up! It is devastatingly heavy sounding! It's real similar to vistalites but I'm not limited to clear headsLaughing H. So here's a couple pics!

I actually bought them like that. I actually wasn't expecting them to be this nice.

Red and green are complimentary colors on the color wheel, it's a great combination. You're doing a great job on these. Play the hell out of them. Go all-out on a set of Blaemires and they'll hear you in the next county!
