Yep jackpot for sure these are going to look and sound great. Cool pic with kitty kat too. They love photo op's and sitting in/on drums. That wrap is so vibrant. Good stuff.

Man o`man what a great find and purchase you`ve made there. This kit must stay together as it will most certainly appreciate in value and in a hurry with that wrap colour.I can see by the cleaned snare and 12"tom how they are going to turn out-they will look fantastic!!!This is a rare bird kit for sure and as someone mentioned before-"they`ve only seen two of these sets in their 45 yrs of experience" and i`ve never seen one in 50 yrs.I know it will be alot of work but well worth it once completed.Good luck with your restoration job.

You have a fantastic drum kit there. Please don't break it up. They will probably clean up nice. Satin Flame finishes tend to scratch easily....as in rash from other drums...I know I bought a new kit in 1969. You can notice the rubs and scratches while close up - but under the lights and from a distance likely knowone will notice.

I love your finish.

A1 man! congrats!

Very nice!! Sounds like you made a great choice keeping them together. The finish cleans well and easily with scrubbing bubbles. The white satin flame I could never stand. Mine was so cracked up on the bass drum it was beyond saving. Yours looks to be in great condition. I rather dig the blue; just bought a Camco in blue moire.

I also have a "two kit" policy, it makes for some tough choices. That set will look nice when done. What were the cymbals that came with it?

Cymbals are 60's A's. 22" ride, 16" crash and 14" hats. The crash is badly cracked.

It also came with an 80's Tama Imperialstar steel snare.

Hey by the way, anyone know what year Gretsch stopped using rail mounts like this? I'm trying to narrow down the years this kit could have been made. Am I correct assuming that they stopped using rail mounts significantly before they stopped using the round badges?

I've never seen that setup before, so you have something unique. '64 catalog shows this one. Anyone got the catalogs from '66 onward?

Use both kits. Play lefty from time to time for a challenge!
