The kid is good but needs to keep practicing. I could give him some pointers.

I think I saw another video of the same kid playing with a rock band that lets him sit in with them. Also I think Neil Pert is a fine drummer but I have never ever been a Rush fan. There music lacks a lot to be desired as far as being melodic, and Geddy Lee's voice is like fingernails on a chalk board to me. Maybe it's just me.
Tim - No big Rush fan on this end either... but we're talking about a seven year old who can follow Neil Peart note for note without 'losing time' or 'locking up'. He was in the pocket from start to finish. Incredible performance for a little guy. When I saw the video I was in awe at how good he is at such a very young age. Remarkable talent on the drums, a 'natural.'
Jeff - Truth be told, that kid already has a great drum coach. Dad, or whoever is teaching him has him on track to be a seasoned pro by the time he's 16. If that kid keeps at it over the years, by the time he hits 18, all he has to do is move close to some recording studios, (N.Y., L.A., Nashville, etc.) he'll be booked for months in advance and make a damn good living as a session drummer. He has the potential for it. Maybe he's the next Tony Royster, or Tony Williams... all child prodigies. His mom and dad can die in peace knowing that their son will have a skill/trade that he can use to feed and care for himself.

In good ol' days my water polo coach used to say:
1% of talent...99% of hard work.
That's why I would not spend single minute to watch the "idols", "talents" etc. (as I never watched even one episode).
This is not the way.
I appreciate skills of that kid, but let's see how it will progress when he will work for real on it.

Ohh yes, no doubt the kid has talent, I was just saying its hard for me to listen to that video with Geddy Lee screeching in the background.
The kid is good but needs to keep practicing. I could give him some pointers.
I was just kidding around here. I know I am probably the worst drummer on the forum, not kidding.
And, I never was a big Rush fan either.
All in all it was fun to watch the video, Rush fan or not, and the best thing about it was the smile on the kids face!
Thank you!

I have a hundred dollars, cash, that says you are NOT the worst drummer on the forum! Laughing HLaughing HLaughing H
Ahh-the child prodigies...we`ve seen many of these before in all styles of music and instruments. But don`t go throwing your sticks away just yet. When children are talented in one area they usually are talented in many others as well.So this young monster drummer may just decide he wants to play guitar.Look out guitar players,lol...Natural talent is no guarantee to success, but combined with all of life`s other special tools&skills- he`s got a hugh start! An amazing youngster(as Ed Sullivan)would have said.Hope this little guy stays with the drums but it doesn`t really matter...he`ll excell at whatever he chooses-just one of those kids.

Nice vid, thanks!!
Looks to me the young man is having a grand time.
Never was a RUSH fan until saw them live.
I'll raise that $100 to $200 betting I'm the worst drummer here :-).

Jeff and Creighton-you guys are being too hard on yourselves. This forum is not about who is better or worse. It`s about all of us helping each other to be better players and have better knowledge of vintage drums and both of you are vital to this forum. So play on boys and Rock the House!!!
