Hey David,

I bought a George Way from Ronn at the L.A. show last year, same model as yours, the studio. Mine is in clear finish (maple) 5 x 14, a great drum. I used it on our bands' CD on a few songs came out very nicely.

Congrats

Very cool! Currently sitting on the kitchen table on the Rogers Super Ten.

No time to take it for a spin.

Not sure which to play first!

The vintage drum or the vintage new drum

You're a better man than I am Gunga Din. I don't think I could have given back the Crav. Thanks for the great pics. Camcos rule!

Yes... it was brought to my attention by a "Friend" that I should have given the George Way drum back and took the Craviotto.

Now how would that have looked while it was all being filmed by Rob's Crew? Cooked Egg

It was one of this split decisions and I had more then my share for the weekend already... I did get two nice drums in one weekend!

I was hoping someone in the crowd won it so I could see the excitement..

I like the George Way drum and the history of the original company. The drum is just excellent work all the way around and a nice addition to my vintage collection.

David!!...

Doesn't matter how any of it LOOKED... you won them both legitimately!! Now, if you could just do that with a lottery ticket, well... :-D Returning one of the drums was quite a stand up thing to do, and for that you are to be applauded... or! ... was it sheer crowd/peer pressure??!! Well done regardless! Now, about that "friend"... you have him in quotes... does that mean that he isn't a 'friend"?! :-D

Haaa! Well, not one for peer pressure! I really thought that one person should not get two drums...

Now, there was a wicked gong that was being raffled..... That is another story...

Plus my Super Ten and that George Way.. really it was enough for me. I made so many new contacts and connections that the show was a success on so many levels.

I have been known to give things away to people and of course lending a helping hand...

Yes, the "Friend" comment was a chide against myself and the Pearl forum thread! My close friends would not fall in that category. :)

Side note David, if you are interested and have time, I recorded a few songs with my band using my George Way snare. You can find the songs at www.myspace.com/thebuffalobluesband.

CD's are going up for sale at CDbaby.com soon.

Chocolate chip with pecans, nuff said....... ;)
