From Wayne Brown

Mark-only 45 yrs. plus will prove that point and i won`t have to worry about it,lol.Wayne

Wayne the sales of DW hardware especially pedals has passed Rogers production number 10 times over already. why would you want to have to use a drum key to make any adjustments when with the turn of your hand on Dw you can make finite adjustments.

I think Wayne is getting a little carried away. It's been said here a thousand times how Swivo was a breakthrough for it's day. It's led the industry towards what we find today. That's a fair point. Many of our Drum hardware companies have ran with the ball and are making high quality hardware that will endure. DW is no exception.

So yeah Swivo-matic hardware, from the period while it was made properly will endure for generations, but I don't doubt that DW's hardware will be any different. Nor Tama, Pearl or Yamaha etc etc.

You guys don't take aesthetics into consideration at all. Strength and reliability aside, I always thought Swivo hardware looked so cool, sleek, industrial. I love the design of it every bit as much as the functionality. DW may manufacture equally strong and reliable hardware but it all looks clunky and big to me. Swivo is minimalist, and has a great design, I like that. All a matter of opinion and personal taste. Me? I like the old stuff, but then - that's why I'm here at VDF and not some other site where the members prefer modern drums and equipment. I'll take Swivo and a drum key over any modern hardware both for the looks and for the solid functionality. Just my personal preference.

I get what you and others are saying , but the day in the sun has passed and will never be again. Progress marches on. to those of us that are jobbing drummers the modern stuff is easier to setup and replacement parts are readily available at most shops, vintage gear well I need not even go there. I use vintage gear as far as drums go most of the time, But my Dw kit is in the rotation and all DW hardware is what I use when that kit is in use.

Was somebody complaining, Mark? You can use whatever you want. I was expressing 'my preference' for the Swivo stuff, not 'arguing for it'. There is no 'better' or 'worse' It's all personal choice and preference. I like Swivo, you like DW and that's ok. We're just different. Nothing to argue about though because nobody is right and nobody is wrong. It's just personal preference, not a contest to see who's right.

Relax, cut back on the caffeine. We're just taking...

While we are at it, my favourite vintage hardware is actually Ludwig. I've never had a problem with it. My favourite is the consul rails. Solid as a rock for me. My DBeat tom sings away and is shell mounted. The fold out spurs are solid too and it all looks sleek and attractive to me. Purdie has a point about the "Chunk" factor. I don't find DW rails at all attractive. I like the 6000 series stands though. I love the sleek look of it.

Mark, my Swivo comment was in response to orangemi's question: "What other Rogers stuff woud you like to see DW make." If you had bothered to actually read the entire thread you'd know that. Me and Wayne didn't just hijack the conversation, we were responding to it.

You have a need to be right all the time that requires counseling. I was responding to a question by the OP. Get a grip.

I'm out. Mark is out of control again... I won't spoil orangemi's thread by getting into a p'ing contest with Mark.

yes your completely wrong velez the thread is about DW Dynasonic, so no hijacking by me either I simply responded that they will not manufacture it swivo as it has been surpassed, you always are looking to show what you always represent. velez a link for you !! http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=pictures+of+whining&view=detailv2&&&id=98888D36D24A13B1161B3832A3EC0BF63B5EB9D9&selectedIndex=0&ccid=mURPLC2d&simid=608004401321214310&thid=HN.608004401321214310

> you always are looking to show what a douche represents.

Mark, sometimes the things we say to others are the very things we need to hear the most ourselves.

You and five year olds are the ones going around calling people names.
