Not sure mile wise, have to find out exactly where in NJ he is. All together maybe a 3-4 round trip ride. Which for that lot isn't bad at all. My older brother and a friend even offered their SUV's so that I don't need to rent a van.

What's the weather like up there now? Could be treacherous. Btw, it's been sunny and in the high 70's here lately in South Texas.flower

The weather has been a$$ backwards, lol. The other day it was 9 out and the wind was whipping. Next day I found myself in shorts enjoying 50+ degrees. I like winter, but the back and forth gets me crazy, lol. Overall though been a mild winter. Not too much snow, not too many bone chilling days.

I live in central NJ. It's not a big state, but maybe I can give you some assistance figuring out the best way to get to your destination..

Spoke to the guy on the phone. He said he is gonna take a look through what he has and do an add up in his head on the basic value on things.Told me he wanted to keep a handful of items ( some gems he fired off ) I offered $500 and he seemed a tad hesitant, and then noted I can ask $800 for the 1970's Ludwig Classics. I didn't say it, but part of me wanted to come out and say - " you listed the lot because you don't wanna deal with selling anymore. Your wife wants it out and the basement refinished. I'll come and take it all one shot, no questions " He made it very clear he has no idea what's really down in the basement and just needs it gone. What do you think top dollar for this should be? I'm honestly not feeling it for anything higher than $500. I know there may be some value in some items, but I still would have to come and get it, and clean it, and really go through everything. Which is exactly what he doesn't want to do,lol

Some sellers are the worst! It's very unclear what he's selling and what he's keeping. Try to find out exactly what you're buying before you do anything else. It could be a couple of busted MIJ sets or there or there could be some good stuff in there.

This is what he did say he knew he had before I made the offer - 2-3 incomplete MIJ kits ( bass & tom kinda deal ) stands from the 1960's,70's,80's ( Slingerland, tama, ludwig ) same as pedals. Said he has the 1970's ludwig classic, said slingerland but not what exactly, and premier toms in rootbeer. Also mentioned a chrome over wood kit ( didn't say a name ) and maybe a cymbal or two. Didn't mention cases or anything so I won't assume it is added in until I have it. So I think for the mentioned $500 is fair. From what I see of that ludwig bass drum, those are not the standard legs if it from the 1970's.

Go for it! Cymbals could be Zildjian, COW snare could be Slingerland or Ludwig.
