Was he still using those weird 12" by 20" OR 22" BD's?Or,were they 14 by 22" etc?

Never mind....Googled it,found out the answer.....
he used 11" by 20" and 11" by 22" BD's!
Here's a hard one.....
what exact year was his 1940's Leedy Broadway snare?

I do believe from seeing this set in LA at their farewell concert that they were 14x20 on right and 14x22 on left also used rogers swivo hardware..

Did a lot of looking online,and they showed 11" by 20" and 11" by 22" BD's in a few pics....
you can even see how close together the lugs are when compared to a 14" depth.........
Said he custom ordered these from Ludwig....

In the photos I've seen, it looks like a 14 x 22 on the left and a 12 x 20 on the right.
Ludwig made lots of 12 x 22s and and some 12 x 20s. Never 11.
The snare was a black lacquer Leedy Broadway from the late '30s or so.

I can see 12" by 20" - 22".......why 11"? Just going by what was said...........
I sold a Leedy-Ludwig 5-1/2 by 14 a year or three ago that would have been a good candidate to make into a GB snare.......
I sure would like to have a kit like the ones in the pics you put up!

There were no 11 X 20 Ludwig bass drums -unless he had them cut down. It's more likely that they are 12" depth because those drums were available in 20" diameter.
