His CL still states that the 16" bass drum is "ultra rare", then goes on to say it might be cut down. Um, a cut down drum is not ultra rare. Jeez.

Reading through this and the link for the other drum forum, all I can say is that I'm utterly disgusted by the situation and I wish you well with this problem Manny. I hope it gets sorted soon. I once bought a kit on ebay for a considerable amount, and I was so nervous for a week till it arrived (loosing sleep etc) I vowed never again, at least for money in the £1000's.

Well I called paypal again today. They can do nothing; ebay has to run it's course first. With Ebay I have to wait until tomorrow or if the buyer chose not to respond to my return request then I have to wait until the 28th - latest day after the item would have been at my place.

That's buyer protection for you!

Sorry to hear this...Some sellers just don`t deserve to sell to honest buyers...

I recently had a non-drum related issue with an item I bought off ebay...The item was listed as new, but, was clearly used when I opened the box...Anyways, I opened a return request and the seller was able to close it for some reason...I contacted ebay and they said they couldn`t do anything about it...Too much time had passed, they said...

I then contacted paypal and they credited my account right then and there...They said that they have an slush fund for these type of problems...I`m not sure if there is a cap on the amount they can give, but, it`s an option if all else fails...

In my case...Paypal is a thumbs up...Ebay is a thumbs down!!

Good luck!! One way or the other you will get your money back...
