Well it did happen. I do have the snare. I just don't post any photos on site's anymore. You may ask why? Years ago on another vintage drum site i was on i did post photos of the snare with me and Ringo to show i have the snare. But guess what about 3 weeks later it showed up on Ebay for sale it was a problem for me ete i have been selling on Ebay for almost 10 years..This is why i don't post any photos of rare or one of a kind drums on site's anymore...I do show my drums like that to a very few friends but thats all i will do....Mikey
Have you been offered a lot of money for the only drums that you dont want to sell? Last viewed: 45 seconds ago
As Patrick (aka jptrickster) once said to me, everything is for sale!

So what if some schmuck hijacked your photos? You are the owner. That has happened to me a few times and friends from various forums alerted me, emailed the schmuck and tore him a new one and alerted Ebay. Don't be the effect of those type of people...Share your photos, we like to see photos. Sharing photos is like the icing on the cake...One hunts down a drum, cleans/restores it and then shares the photos and the story with friends and fellow collectors, for me that's part of the fun of collecting vintage snare drums. You can always put one of those "water marks" on your photo(s).

Good for you Mike, I guess your reputation and maybe a little bit of luck have kept you trouble free at the shark infested waters of Sleazebay but Im proud to say that Ive been doin ok for at least 4 years since I closed my account there. To name a few of the tyranic bad sides of that corrupted place: No bad feedback allowed for buyers, They nickel and dime you like crazy, Ebay-Paypal double dipping, They charge on the shipping now, 21 days hold on your money, Shill bidding running rampant, Mega seller list for free while small sellers pay, Corrupted DrS system, They hide your listings, People can buy yours stuff replace crucial parts and then return it, return a brick, old newspapers or nothing at all...Besides more exposure I dont see a good side on Sleazebay. Ill never support corporate bullies, Ill always side with the small sellers, Im doin fine with my own website...Im proud of it and I refuse to be treated like a criminal...I SAY PAYPAL AND EBAY SUCK
Ok where can you get your drums or whatever you are selling in front of millions of people for what it cost to sell on ebay? you can't! these drum markets we enjoy now are because of the internet and instant communication just like this thread.... you want to go back to mailing letters and phone calls? I don't like the bay either but it is a tool and one that works if you learn to apply a good selling attitude and dot all your I's and cross your t's. all of these great drum collectors, and people on this forum all the information contained here what is that worth?
I stopped selling on eBay, too.
It's not millions. Check the number counter for an accurate total of the individual's who looked at your wares. It usually averages well under 100.
Most overestimate the potential eBay market.
Though it would be natural to reply with the usual "Millions of potential" stuff. You have the same "potential" with any ad online through Craigslist. Bottom line, if YOU feel that having under a hundred people looking at your ad is worth the eBay crap, then knock yourself out. I'm having no problems selling my stuff outside of eBay.
An original Thermogloss Jazzette kit just went up on e-bay with a Buy it now of $5995 Think somebody was reading this post?

Fortunately (and sometimes unfortunately) I live in LA where theres drums everywhere for the trained eye...I dont need SleazEbay at all. I dont need to sell international and put up with all the crap that SleazEbay wants you to put up with...I sell international through my own website under my own rules...Its not that simple but it is worth it. SleazEbay think they own the product and they want you to work for THEM... Thanks but no, thanks!
