I did a bad thing Last viewed: 48 minutes ago

I hate to see this happen.

What's wrong with people?

How can they not care?

It blows my mind.

I collect vintage bicycles also and I see this type of thing happen with them too.

If something is an original piece that has stayed together for however many years how in the world can someone just strip it all apart to make money?

You can feel bad for the set but don't feel like it's your fault.

You were duped by a con man who took advantage of someone who wanted to help another drummer out.

It's despicable.

These people have no soul.

I would at the least send the guy a message telling him what I thought about his little shanangins. Mister T

Karma will get that guy. Myself one of my kits I got super cheap on a promise that I would not sell it but rather fix it up. My word is worth a lot more than a deal. He will get his at some point.

We've talked about this practice repeatedly here. Buyers selling off the individual drums of a perfectly matched set, or stripping and parting out the hardware of a single, perfectly restored drum. I'm sure it's going on with vintage cars, radios, pinball machines, or even bicycles as mentioned above. How do we stop it? I don't know. Perhaps we can't. Maybe it's the inevitable result of our willingness to pay ridiculous prices for that P-83 strainer or that 14" WMP floor tom we just gotta' have so badly.

People who do things like that usually get repaid in some way. Some day that bad karma will come to them.
