Jerry - I don't have the words to express how I'm feeling right now. The highest thing I can say about you is that you've been 'a good man to travel the road with'. You are and will continue to be in my heart and my thoughts.

Love and peace to you and yours...

I remain,

your friend,

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Jerry,

I am deeply saddened to hear about your health and I empathize with you. My eyes are welling up as I think about what you are going through. I lost my father to cancer November of 2013 and my mom, also to cancer, just 4 months ago. Please know that you are in my thoughts. The VDF community is made up of great people. Glad you are one of them!

My son and I rode home from his college today... we jammed to Hendrix and Led Zep. I'm going to go give him a hug and tell him I love him and I am proud of him, he's going to wonder why and I won't be able to tell him without crying. Thanks for reality check Jerry.. tomorrow is not promised.

You are surrounded by people who love you and have cared for you...and you for them. You have touched lives and made them better. Your peace with this is an inspiration. May God bless and keep you, may His face smile upon you.

Thanks!!

Jim

Jerry,

I haven't had the pleasure to have seen your posts in the past, and that is no doubt due to the fact that you have been embattled for some time. I greatly appreciate your courage and candor in this matter of passing from us for now. You have done this the way it should be done. We too often mask the realities of life in one form or another. Crossing over is one of those realities. Others have preceded you from this forum, it appears for the moment you may precede us, though there is certainly no shred of guarantee in that. Any one of us could be there ahead of the other if we are still able to respond to your thread.

So thank you for approaching this the way you have so that we all have a reality check, have the opportunity to express the highest of our capacity, which is the one to love. We bid farewell for now, and I for one, carry that great hope that we will not have done so forever:

1 Corinthians 15:52New International Version (NIV)

..in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

Jerry, Although I've never met you, you are in fact, a drum brother here and a drummer for life! Whatever may happen, I know you'll still keep drumming and I hope all of us in the group can meet someday in the after life, and talk about old times. You as well as your family are in my prayers!!!
