It is with my deepest regret to inform you that we have lost our drum brother Jerry today. He's in a much better place, and not suffering anymore. :-(

My deepest condolences to Jerry's family and friends.

Rest easy brother...

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Greg, we all lost a good man. Jerry struck me as a very centered individual. A quiet calm inside of him. A man of faith, purpose, knowledge and a love of drums. One of my last PM's we had was about the snare I bought from him. I'd like to share with you and the guys here what kind of guy he was. This response brought me to tears:

Re: Blaemire snare

Hey Gary

I am so glad you will end up with this snare.

It is the very hardest to sell, but I release it to you with no hesitation.

Jerry

I'm so glad I got to know Jerry, as I'm sure are many others. He will be missed for sure. We lost a great guy. May we all strive to be as good as a man as he was and to have the courage he had to fight such a battle with the class and dignity he did.

Rest my drum brother and prayers to his family.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

"This has always been my sanctuary to escape into."

I'm basically a clown compared to some of you on here. Trust me. The original post had me in tears, and your words now are moving to someone who never knew Jerry. The ripple effect good people have...I feel sad and grateful.

I too did not know Jerry, but it seems his contributions and face-to-face friendships with some of you make this a particularly difficult message to convey. He indicated that he had reconciled himself to the outcome, but it surely remains painful to his family and friends. It is true that we hope for a reunion at the resurrection and I hope to meet him at that time.

For now, it is good bye, good bye, but I hope some day it will be hello.

Very, very sorry to hear the news. I had also been following this thread at DFO. Jerry was a loved and respected person and will be truly missed. Our vintage drum community is such a great place.
