Loading...

You bet we are! I'm still collecting information on any of the 'B' line stuff other than Standard's. Rick is handling the original Standard line (not SL's). The 'B' line models you ask?

Standard (original)

Standard (2nd issue)

Educator

Combo

Combo II

S/L (Standard Line)

Rocker

Rocker II

On the Rocker's: Only the B/W badged with USA on the right side, please. These drums were made at the Monroe, NC plant just after the move from Chicago.

Thanks for sharing the information about your drums.

From Hobbs

Very (I think) interesting thing is the 12" tom has white interior, the rest GRANITONE.

This is interesting to me, too. I have a few other reports of apparently original sets that have dissimilar characteristics - interiors, lug styles - so it certainly could have come together that way from the factory or the retailer. Is there anything in particular about your set's history that makes you not doubt it came together? Note, I am not questioning your statement, just trying to add notes to the information about your set.

Only t/ they came together & the 3's are close. Could be pieced together - but it does have the original double tom mount, so it'd seem reasonable that they came together -

Hi Rick,

I just visited your drum dating site (sounds a little kinky, doesn't it?) and am impressed with what you've done thus far.

Yes my Standards all have Granitone interiors with re-rings.

chris - Thanks for the info.

MarkE - Thanks. I worked a little more on the paper about Standards last night. I hope to make it available soon.

Craig - I had the 12 tom as Resocoat and the others as Granitone, so you must have already provided the info.

Fish & KC -

Are Standard wood bd hoops & COS hoops the same you'll find on the higher end Ludwig drums (Downbeat, Hollywood, etc)?

Thank you - Chris

That's a good question. I did compare the BD hoops once, and they are exactly like the ones on my '66 Classic. I'm not sure about the rims. I guess I better dig my micro-meter out and measure.

Just measured. The rims and hoops are the same as on my '66 Ludwig kit.
