Does anyone have insurance on thier drum collection? If so, did you have to come up with a value for each kit, and where did you get the value assesment?

You can insure your collection, just be sure to let them know that you are just a collector! If you make money playing them than it goes under business insurance and it will cost way more.

Thats what I was thinking. I guess I need to call my homeowners insurance agent and see what he says. I also have 20 something guitars and a few amps. It would kill me if I came home and all my **** was gone. I do have a security system though.

I tried to get insurance on my kit that I travelled with and couldn`t find a company that wanted to make a policy. Renter`s/home/fire insurance works for it in the house I think.

I dont know what it's like now but I live in Canada and what we used to do is insure our gear through our home insurance. Then when were travelling our vehicle insurance covered it, and finally wherever we were set up, bar, hall, Arena whatever would cover it. It used to be great because it kept our costs down. But as I say it's been awhile.

I have a room full of guitars, drums, and amps plus I have drums setting in various places in my house and a few kits stacked up in the garage. I have everything but my snares inventoried on a spread sheet. The kit that I play is down at our jamhole.
