Wow. If we had known there was going to be a test, we would have studied.

Hey It's a valid question, and one that is not easily answered.

UK drum manufacturers always have put the wrap into the former first before adding the ply. I would think your big companies will also do it that way. It is the most sensible way to do it (unless, of course, you are doing a re-wrap) By the way it is John.....not Mr K.....

Welcome, plenty of beverly questions go through here with little to draw on for answering them. Please stay !i

About the wrap question, I think that wrap in the oven first is just a way to eliminate another step in the build.

Have you ever owned a Sonor drum ? They have a wrap station after the ovens !i

Tim,I forgot to mention that all the hardware for both Premier and Beverley was designed by Clifford Della-Porta, one of Albert's three sons. Clifford is still going strong, well he was last time I heard, but I don't know what happened to the other brothers when Premier went bust. The only lugs that Clifford didn't design were on the Beverley drums. I handled that, again trying to get as near to Ludwig as I safely could. Clifford was a brilliant absolute boffin and would go off in a trance when asked a technical question, before coming up with the answer.John

John - thought you might like to see some photos of the Beverley blue badge kit I am currently restoring.

If you happen to have any thoughts/information about age/history of this kit, that would be great! Gordon
