These aren't vintage, but I play them in 1 of 3 bands:

These are vintage and are used in the other 2 bands:

My 60s red sparkle Amatis I have at our summer cottage. They sound so good I might start using them as a gigging kit. They have quite old Emperors on the toms for that classic raw, woody sound. I'm still looking for the right formula for the kick. The snare is a cheap Indonesia-made Yamaha Steel 6.5 snare with really beaten up and overstretched Ambassador that sounds just GREAT - very sensitive, ringy and popping.

I switch the cymbals around quite a bit. Sometimes I put the ride away and just use three crashes (including an Avedis and a Super Zyn bought from member here).

Thanks and a have a nice day!

C&C blue sparkle Player Date 2. I play the 14x24, the 9x14 and 16x18. I also have the 14x22, the 8x13 and 16x16 for this kit but prefer the larger sizes.

Second kit is something I just got all the pieces for, my Elkhart made band instruments kit. I've wanted to put together a "Levon" kit for years and finally got my chance. 14x26 Leedy & Ludwig (no readable date stamp), 10x14 Leedy & Ludwig single tension (5308 date stamp) and a 14x16 Leedy (4708 stamp).

Favorite snares (this week) are either my WMP 8x15 Leedy & Ludwig (5212) or my copper 6.5x14 Dunnett George H. Way.

Cymbals are 19 K crash, 18 EAK with 4 rivet holes, usually one or no rivet installed, 24 K Light Ride and a set of 16 (!) hats: 60's era concert cymbal on bottom and a Vintage CIE. paper thin crash on top.

Hey!

What's with the snare in the background of pic three?

Fibes lugs and a Trick throw.

What kind of shell is that?

Fibes?

:D

C&C makes the best shells these days.

They have a sweet 3 ply.
