I just unboxed the 16'' about an hour or so ago, and roughly cleaned 'er up. Great condition, and it sounds deluxe! Geezes These marching snares have great tone. I'm going to drill the shell for legs and soak and polish the hardware in the next couple of days. I'll take some pictures of the hardware cleaning, so It will give you guys an idea of how I did all of the other drums. Might just do a little Before and after comparison. I wish you guys could have seen a before pictures of the bass drum, what a mess...

The combination of the 3-ply mahogany against the rock maple just kills. Great looking kit. Nice job...

Rag momma rag!

Too many great drums to list here!

A little off topic,

I just returned from visiting all the Maritime Provinces including NFLND on a motorcycle trip. Riding the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton is a MUST & Meat Cove has the best campground I've ever seen.

I soaked all the parts in Krown solution overnight, then used the green pads from the sponges to scrub off the rust. I wipped off the excess with paper towel and q-tips. The washers and strap holder (that clipy thingy on the hoop) needed more help, there was some heavy duty rust caked on. My local parts store was out of rust remover (I live in a small town) so the guy suggested soaking in coca-cola! Wich actually worked out very well on removing the rust, but not quite. A quick google search on home rust removers and I ended up soaking them in white vinegar, wich dried out the rust so I scrubbed a bit more rust off with the pads. One more 3 hour soak in Krown and some extra elbow grease with the scrub pads and they came out great! This is basically ther same process I used to restore the rest of the kit. Fun times!
