Well,Posting these up for a friend to get a general idea of worth and any other info anyone would like to share. Thanks!Creighton

That Ludwig "Victory" set, was made during WWII. They used wood for hardware because of the high demand for metal during the manufacturing of weapons and vehicles during the war effort..

Just as ARCHxANGEL stated, i'd put that kit at the $1500-2000 range, maybe even a bit more.

Unfortunately, it seems I am not allowed to post photo attachments here any more, so here is a link to an ad for the Victory drums.http://www.coopersvintagedrums.com/wardocument999.jpg

Not allowed? Why not? So you can't attach anymore photos of those Slingerland goodies anymore?

Perhaps, I've been doing something incorrectly but in recent weeks, I've been unable to post attachments.

I've had the same problem before with photos that I've taken with my digital camera. Now I just open the image with Windows Paint and resize to 50%. Quicker than opening Photoshop. Kind of annoying, but what can we do?!

On my Canon G9 camera set to Normal resolution can upload those pictures direct from the memory card with zero fuss.

Anything scanned at high res. will need to be downsized. Regret don't know the maximum photo size for this forum.

Nothing special here but I like them.

I guess something changed because I've been posting high res photos for quite a while. I can re-size them from now on, I guess.

So just back from seeing these. What a great outfit. Just the right amount of rash. Paint would gleam with a cleaning. Badges are mint. Bad photo but you can get the idea. Tacked heads are fine. Really nice complete kit.

The FT stand is cool. Made from hoops. Bottom legs were cut from a 26" and top from a 16". Span of the top basket is 16" with the center to center drop 7 1/2". Rubber wrapped wood stops. Folds up nice. Silver paint.

Felt very lucky to see a great piece of history.

I picked this up a few years ago, it was priced at $2500 although I got it for a little less. :) It's in excellent condition, and all original (except the snare stand, I added that and it appears to be the correct one.) Also no pedal or cymbal arm, still looking for both. Hard to say how much it's been restored, if at all. It's very clean, a little too clean, but a well-known older musician owned it, and it's possible that it would have stayed pristine for over 70 years. (Most of my kits will be pristine when they eventually go up for sale.)

I agree with the pricing suggested, try $2000 but be ready to take $1500. No less than $1250 though, those kits are rare, even in fair-good condition. I've only seen 3 or 4 in person (but none as nice as mine! :) )
