My bass drum has the spurs in the same location as yours. I thought it strange placement as well.

I have a set of Rockers that have the spurs installed directly behind and in line with the lug. It's original. Drum has not been molested. It's an earlier Rocker with the classic lugs and arched spurs. I've been buying up every Rocker(the US stuff) drum I can. I've become obsessed! It's incredible how many differences can be found within this line of drums.

I'm helping a guitarist friend who has a nice home studio rehab his white cortex Rocker II 5-piece. It has Standard lugs and granitone interior.

I've never played this kit so I'm not sure what these kits are capable of sounding like. I'm going to have to replace some stripped parts. He said if it is too far gone he'd be interested in buying another kit. Am I wasting money putting parts into this Rocker II or is it worth the money and effort. The goal here is sound and working functionality.

No. Rockers are phenomenal drums. Well, kits of a certain vintage. The only downside is the hardware. Rocker II's have the lousy spurs and metal kick hoops. Swap that stuff out and you have one hell of kit. I've become obsessed with these drums and I scoop up as many as I can steal on ebay/CL.

Good to know. I think the biggest issue to tackle is replacing the bass drum spurs. Do you know if any other spurs work with the hole pattern on the Rocker II bass drums? I don's see any RII bass spurs on eBay and I'm not sure they'd be the best replacement option even if I find a pair.

I use Gibralter spurs, 4 bolt pattern. I believe they will fit 2 of the existing holes. There is nothing that I have found so far that will be direct plug and play. You will have to drill an extra hole or 2.

I've done the same gibraltar folding Spurs put over the existing holes.

My rocker II set is awesome.

I say that it's six ply shells in the video but noted that it's actually the four ply in the comments.

Rockers are great drums and I apologize in advance to everyone who will not be able to get a kit because I have been buying them all up! I wish I started a few years back because everyone is starting to catch on hence...driving up the value.

The same thing is happening with the Standards.
