I've said it before...I remember reading that some jazz great said he had drilled old K's in the past,and was never happy with the results after...Hang a dog chain/Camco sizzler..whatever!I think I have 3 Camco sizzlers here right now!Blair

Lynn and Oddy, I am in your camp. I hate the idea of ruining perfectly good vintage equipment. But, once the point is made, we really should back off and let the man be. Personally, I would not drill a sweet old hand hammered cymbal. If you want a sizzle, slap on a chain or a couple of dimes or a sizzler or a few nails or any number of other methods. Or just buy a sizzle cymbal. I made my comment 'cause it was getting thick with people against it. I just posted a reminder. That's all. Nothing more.

Another low buck way is to hook 5-6 paperclips together and hang them under the top felt acros the cymbal. Works great and yiu dont have to worry about losing them.
