They're probably 63's... 'baseball bat mufflers'! You're in for a sonic treat with those. What are the serial numbers on them? If it's an early enough kit, (Pre-Ringo rush,) it'll be a quality build and superior Ludwig sound.

Those tubs couldn't have ended up with a nicer guy! Congrats, enjoy. More pix after clean-up please...

John

Too many great drums to list here!

John thank you. the numbers are as follows,

14x22 BD, 152650

9x13 tom, 149071

16x16 FT, 159538

Supra is b/o badge has date stamp of 1971

Aslo got 11 more peices, stands, throne, cymbals, kick pedal and two timbales.

It was a good night, I started taking them apart last night at 11:30. Wish the shells were a little more shinney. Novus 2 helped but have I heard of guys wet sanding the shells?

Here is a picture of the date stamps. One from the ft and one from the 13. Is it normal for them to be so faint? They are so hard to read, looks like 1492 but we a ll know thats not right. It almost as if someone painted the inside but there is no paint on the screws and where the rings meet the shell the paint looks old and has cracked at the joint like it doe's

Very nice going JC! That is a hot looking kit. Looks like the most work you'll have is repainting the hoops - which you look quite qualified doing!

Enjoy them - Chris

CONGRATS on the great find! I used to own a Blue Oyster Pearl Luddy kit from 1967 and love that wrap. As far as "shining up" the shells I've found Meguiars Color X to be quite effective.

Ya thanks everyone I always wanted a blue oyster kit like this. After searching the completed listings on e-bay and saw what these have sold for, I just couldn't get there fast enough. Then after invetory and putting a small price on the stands, cymbals, timbales and other stuff I came uo with a cost for just the three drums and wow, I did good!

Thank you, I will get some today! Along with some black spray paint for the hoops.
