the 14x20" will fill the bill nicely for you, the linen cloth is hard to distinguish it's literally part of the shell! is the drum black or does it have a blue hue to it, it looks black but it doesn't match any of the swatches that I have for 60's gretsch drums, it's either midnight pearl or Black pearl!

It's definitely black. I looked for this cloth on the inside again and took a picture. The inside finish looks like all the other drums in the set. It's got silver paint. You can see the wood grain through the finish.

Man that's a good looking inside shell, the linen cloth is on the outside under the wrap it's part of the shell you'll see it once you get the wrap off! yours may not have it but most wrapped gretsch shells do have it on them, that is one of the gretsch secrets to the sound of gretsch drums!
Ok under the wrap...got ya!
I'll take a look under there when I continue with the drum tomorrow.
Not much progress today. I need to find that Whink stuff for the inside screws and washers. As well as buy some big C clamps for a final attempt to salvage the wrap.

Finally got her finished up! Not sure what I'm gonna do about the hoops on the bass drum yet...I kind of like it the way it is. Maybe I'll just sand the inner strip to clean it up a little.

Only the Gretsch 3 ply drums had the linen below the wrap.........
Wow. That is too bad. But, as other have pointed out, all is not lost because there is some very high quality replacement wrap available for OBP. And for a bass, you can get it precut and ready to roll. I would try www.drummaker.comThey may likely have a "special" a partial sheet that would be perfect for your drum. Or you can try www.jamminsam.com or www.precisiondrum.com in that order. Precision will be highest of all three.
Why would he want to recover it in OBP,when the rest of the kit is BDP?DOH
