Yeah but there have been countless mediocre groups in the last five decades that have sold millions of records ,,Im talkin bou the difference between quantity and quality.... the beatles were good ,they werent great and THE reason they went from a pub band ripping off buddy holly and chuck berry to an overnight sensation was because of george martin, george martin didnt just produce their records, he marketed them and co-wrote songs without taking credit,,,, there were/are countless groups that are good but if they dont have the publicity their records dont sell..Im just emphasizing what shouldnt be ignored, Im not undermining a legendary group and thats the bogus perception that dolts get from it rather than agreeing to the facts.

Who cares about other mediocre bands. Are they still selling 71 MILLION dollare in record sale , last year 2013.Everybody was doing covers back then....and so were the BBs.

Brian Epstein managed the Beatles, not Sir George. His influence was in the studio only, and he also didn't co-write any tunes either, but he did some instrumental arrangements. There's no denying a Lennon-McCartney tune ,or a Harrison tune.More fabricated nonsense.Your "facts" again are simply B.S.,and smoke.Lame

Oh,for the love of Pete, the Beatles WERE still a band.Just because they weren't performing live anymore, means exactly zilch, nada, zip and zero. You really want to hang your hat on THAT.Also there isn't a shread of evidence they used any other guitar players, except Clapton, one ONE song. They also used Billy Preston, who is shown in Let it Be and the roof top concert. They also used various string and horn players, but that's it.They didn't give credit?Well neither did anyone else in those days,INCLUDING,the Beach Boys who use the Wrecking Crew.....heavily.They also broke up in 70,NOT 69 like you still insist upon.If you're going to even attempt to bring up that Purdie story, you'd better have some new FACTS,and not some made up conjecture.Purdies fairy tale about him being on the first few Beatle albums, and Ringo not playing at all,,as well as the rest of that fairy tale, has been debunked....numerous times. It carries the same weight as bigfoot and Pauls dead.A band is a band,no matter where you play.George Martin contributed to their sucess, but they wrote the music. They played the music, they sang the music, and toured all over the world, and were a great live band, that sounded just like their albums. They also did the arrangements and instrumentation,as can be witnessed by numerous out takes in circulation.Sir George was producing comedy and novelty records for EMI when he met the Beatles, and was clueless as how to produce pop/rock bands like the Beatles. It was a learning process.I don't know where you're getting your information from, but it dosen't resemble the facts what so ever. The Beatles sold over 71 million in cd sales last year,2013.Chew on that one.Steve B

there was no beatles in 1970, they recorded abbey rd in 69, their final album and their last public appearance as well,,,, and yeah epstein managed them I know, and martin produced/ they were the duo that MADE them.

And just who is this "Pete" we should be loving?

My opinion is that Kook is actually an alias for one of the regular members here and he created an alter ego that says all sorts of ridiculous and ludicrous things just to see if we will bite. So thanks for the fun and frivolity that is the content of your posts. No one could seriously believe any of that. My only gripe is I didn't think of this idea first. So when a new member shows up claiming ABBA is the greatest band of all time, you'll know it is me. ....darn it, I should not have said that....

You're smoking rubber bands again KOOK.Just do about 60 seconds of research on that to see ,you are yet again WRONG.

The Beatles made the Beatles, move on with the B.S,and smell what you've been saying.

Lastly,I'm pretty convinced you're a troll, with so little a knowledge as as be laughable.BTW...your screen name is perfect,a KOOK you are.

VM 2K,Yeah I know I'm waisting my time here, but I'm thinking of the lurkers who read this tripe ,and may start to believe that drivel, that the KOOK Man, is shoveling.I just wanted to set the record straight, with well documented reasearch, and provable facts. This is just some bitter mans made up conjecture, posing as valid information because Dennis Wilson, isn't as popular than Ringo nonsense.
