I saw the Go-Gos 1st tour back in 1980, I think. They were great. Nice when drums have histories like this. Congratulations.

Cool drum and story. Never saw the locks before. Does that mean there was a problem with the lugs and nuts?

Rogers Beavertail lugs are extremely dependable. They do not lose tension. The use of lug locks today is largely to prevent detuning which is primarily caused by rimshots. I honestly do not know the specific reason Rogers introduced them in the early 80s. I have found it makes changing a head quicker under stress and hurry, you dont accidentally drop a rim and have lug screws strolling across the floor. They do look cool on a drum.

This is a drum I will be keeping for a long time, at least that is my plan.

That's awesome and I looove the Go Gos. And who didn't have the hots for Belinda in the early MTV days? Great story. Congrats. I'm no Rogers expert but I thought after early 70s Rogers went out of favor and production declined. Kinda surprised to see Gina in video playing a Rogers kit.. Oh well. Nice happy ending. Everyone go to bed :)

What's interesting is how often you saw new wave and punk bands with Rogers. (Sex Pistols, Ramones, Go Go's all featured Rogers.) I don't know what to make of that observation btw.
