Quick question.... Now I am questioning myself! Should I gig with these drums? What do you all think? Vintage is one thing, rare and vintage another. Just listening to the last studio takes with them and am just blown away.John
John,The set i have is only used in the studio i never take them out playing a gig...They the way i do things with all of my Rare set's...Mikey
Here are some pictures of my 16x16 Grossman/Rogers/Duplex tom. My lugs match John's, in fact my drum looks like it could have come with John's kit.
I believe the brackets on the Floor toms were called Sta tite mounts,They are on my 1967 14 wmp floor tom,I like them better than the swivo/knobbys.

That's what they called the cymbal arm holders/brackets too. I was just notified by what I believe to be an expert on vintage drums, these are not Rogers. Oddly enough I am more relieved, I will not be worried about taking them out gigging.... All in all a strange bunch of drums we few have here.
John, who is your expert? Why does he think these are not Rogers? What does he think they are? You can call them by any name but they sure look like Rogers built to me. When I took the heads off to look inside they even smelled like my other Rogers kits. We need more info on Grossman Co. after they sold Rogers. This only gets more interesting.

Happy you mentioned that "smell", mine have that too! Kinda like a drummer's version of roses. Love this stuff....

I was wrong, the cymbal brackets were called "Bolt-On" cymbal holders. Thanks for sharing. I am learnning a bunch now.
John, Who was the Rogers "expert" that told you these weren't Rogers drums? What did he/she tell you they are? The only difference are the lugs not seen in print. That might surface some day...
