Sorry to read of your troubles. PayPal is way past lame. Buyer can claim any nonsense the money and product are gone. Hope everything works out.

Yeah, I know about Paypal. Now they told me today that considering my flawless feedback both on Ebay and with my own company they might still return my money for the missing items. We'll see. Even if they reimburse me Ill make sure everybody here knows about this thief: SealClubbingSkimo.

This guy will get nailed one way or the other, and he deserves it.. Sorry to hear about that..This is why i've always sold and bought locally.. One gentlemen who lived 5 hrs away from me contacted me by email regarding a local ad i placed..He wanted to buy a vintage Ludwig snare stand i was selling for $50.. I wasn't about to go through all that trouble for shipping an item of that price..He was a nice enough older man and contacted me by phone..He pleaded with me to sell him the stand but I refused because he literally lives on farm land and that courier trucks rarely go to his town, let alone his farm house..That right there was the no-go for me..I felt bad for him and wished him good luck on his search..I even referred him to other places he could find the stand , like ebay, reverb.com, and Dave's drum shop in Ottawa Canada, which is only 2 hrs from me.. He thanked me and went along his way.. Potential delivery and payment disaster avoided..

Hi, Vinnie:

I too am vey sorry to hear of your plight. Bloody sad! Up here in Canada, most people consider the guy's "handle" an example of extreme insensitivity and boorishness! I'm sure it's the same all over the world. I hope you nail this guy to the wall!!!

Brian

Just a drummer who loves all things about vintage drums! Nothing more, nothing less.

I sent him a chance to do the right thing and return the items. If we all are in to vintage drums we are supposed to treat each other with respect because of the love we share for the music, the instrument and the art. Unfortunately the real world doesn't work that way. You find persons who think that ripping a member off is worth the bad reputation that is gonna come afterwards. I"ve seen people meeting at shows here, bringing family, calling each other on sickness, supporting the one that lost a family member, giving stuff away to another member to complete his project...And then persons like Mike Baugh. Who waits around for 2 months to open a claim and the send half of the items back. Thats him: the awfully nicknamed SealClubbineskimo

Vinnie - If I'm reading this correctly... you offered and gave the guy a full refund, but you only got half your stuff back?

If that's the case; the guy is a thief.

For me the rules of doing business are simple and straight forward. I will ship the merchandise only when the money is in my hands (unless it's a friend, or someone I have done other transactions with, I will ship with full confidence of being paid,) and if I'm issuing a refund, I don't send a penny back until I have my merchandise back and in the same condition I sent it. After I have my stuff back, you get your money back. Simple, easy, but Ebay and their evil twin Paypal don't play by those rules. They will refund $ before you get your stuff back. That's where the system falls apart.

I would rather do business directly, with all the rules understood on both sides than have fleabay or Paypal stick their ugly faces in the middle of my transactions.

So sorry to hear you got ripped off.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I don't like the guy's name at all, being the animal lover I am. That's enough for me.

Hey John. Yeah, It sucks. Unfortunately Paypal put itself in the position that if you don't take them nobody wants to do business with you anymore. The time of the Money orders and personal checks its kinda gone...Mark Baugh, The thief insisted on using Paypal because he had it all planned. They know Paypal will side with them. But I'm working on this. I got video proof of the half empty box and I also have the USPS and UPS receipts with the difference on the weight on the box. The Police department has the report already and Im contacting some people I know very close to where he lives that's keeping an eye on the case. But most important for me its that everybody here at the VDF knows that Mark Baugh (SealClubbinEskimo) is a thief. and Larryz: Yes, first time I saw his name I though: "How can you have such a stupid name" Im a Vegetarian and animal lover myself too. Thief and animal cruelty supporter. And he call himself a drummer?
