not likely 50's. The wrap here is Blau Geschiefert,also used by Trixon as Blue Stripes and Tromsa as Blau Schiefer.=====only there seems to have been 2 suppliers. Trixon used a full thickness nitrocellulose version but Sonor and Tromsa seem to have used only the thin acetate version-----that's why it's torn. That one seems to first be around in the early 60's---shows up in Sonor catalogues at least in 1962.-----I've never seen a drumkit from the 50's with that wrap on it.

It`s most of a Chicago Star,..FT legs are not correct, tom mount is I don`t know but not Sonor, One of the tom badge mallets was replaced with the correct one but in better shape and the cymbal arm is missing !i

Really nice old kit. To bad the floor Tom has the wrap problems. Also there is what looks like a metal staple in the seam. I could zoom in on it with my iPad.

A little hoop wrap missing. What are the odds of finding some wrap that would work on that floor Tom and hoops.

It's a 1960s kit, a three ply with rerings, so pre 1965. I just had a quick glance at the kit, but I'd say that the non-original parts could be found - and the 3 ply kits are very special. Also, the 20" bass drum has 8 lugs, making it the more expensive variety than the easier to find 6-lugger.

Price isn't very high, if the shells are in good structural shape.

This set appears to be early mid 1960's. More than a few splits in the pearl finish. I've no clue what is stuck in there for a trommel link. Thin ply shells with reinforcement rings, which to my experience are fine for jazz but insufficient for rock and heavy playing. I do love vintage Sonor teardrop kits - great looking profile and looks from the days when real drummers made real drums. Commenting on this forum I consider acceptable, but I make it a rule never to go on to a seller's auction page or web site business and offer them unsolicited advice to "correct" an error in their item description. I would consider that both unprofessional conduct as well as a display of poor judgement. The private transactions of others are none of my business, and in the world of business caveat emptor is the rule.

I would place it 63/64 but not the first Chicago from 60/62 because it only has one set of spurs, the earlier one had four spurs !i
