Beautiful drums!I have yet to play a Sonor kit. My 18" bd on my 2011 Custom Gretsch kit and the 20" on my late 50's kit sound amazing.. If your bass drum is 'best bass drum ever heard' like Oddball says I will definately have to check them out some day. I've heard lots of good things about Sonor drums but like I said at the begining of this thread I don't know much about them. I posted this thread partly because so many people like Sonor.
Mines a 22, and it`s got a ten inch port in the center because I got the big concert kit. Sonor would tune with something ,I forget how or what but it has an almost dead thump with tight batter loser reso, I lost that sound f`n with it when I first got it but then found that sweet spot again, no muffler needed at all. Once in that spot, leave it, it`ll stay. My friends girl got a phonic kit with reso heads and her BD had no port, had the same tune sound and sweet spot,..it`s the drum, not the player !i I ended up with it because she was play`n jazz and mine shook like crazyand we traded, then got my original back on the cheap when she moved and sold off the kit, still got it . again, it`s the drum not the player.
