Just finished cleaning up the toms, their lugs, and the floor tom mounts. I'm pretty satisfied with the results. I'll be working on the rims next. They're extremely filthy. Then I'll start the bass drum.

Thanks! The bass drum was extremely filthy. There was some sort of residue from what must have been some duct tape or something similar all over the shell and a few of the claws and rods were practically rusted on to the hoops, which were painted white at some point to match the kit. I just got done cleaning the BD and touching up the hoops. The
in-lay I inserted is nothing more than a reflective tape that actually changes colors depending on how the light hits it. It's easily removable for whoever might end up with this drum and wants to install the color of their choice. I must say that my arms are quite sore from working on this piece. The claws and rods are next along with the rims from the toms.
How do those white hoops look on the kit? I have a pair of natural maple hoops on my white kit and it looks way better than the stock black. I bet the white gives it a very cool look too.

I haven't mounted them as of yet. I couldn't really tell whether I liked them or not when I originally saw them due to their filthy condition. I had to strip out the metal in-lays since they were all rusted. However, I like kits that look somewhat "different" or "unique" so I think I'm going to like the looks of these.
I totally agree with you regarding the natural maple hoops. The stock black hoops look fine with certain wraps but not so hot with others in my opinion. I've installed natural maple hoops on several of my bass drums.
I can't decide whether I like the WMP or the green sparkel better.Nice drums

Here's a couple pics with one of the hoops mounted on the shell. I could only mount one right now since the two heads that were on the drum when I purchased it were basically trashed. I found this Ebony head in my "excess" stash and installed it.
Yep, I like it. That is going to be easily flippable. I like what you did with the green sparkle kit. The natural hoops look very good. However, I think I would leave the hoops you have on this white kit and let the next owner do that voodoo that they do so well...
Lame but oh so true!
The white hoops definitely look better than the normal black ones would very nice.
