What to do? Last viewed: 6 hours ago
When the mistake has been my fault I have covered the cost. If the buyer offers to pay the extra fine if not that's ok too. After all it was my mistake. When I have been a buyer like in your situation I have offered to split the difference. Or in some cases pay the full amount. I'm sure if you offer to split the difference he'd be fine with that.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

That's what I was thinking too.
Ps..he sent it via Canada Post AFAIK....
It should have the amount on it then,I would think....
I really appreciate that someone is even asking this question. I forget there are honest, conscientious people around sometimes.

I would do the Karma thing. It's only $10, not much to gripe about. Only my thought.
Good luck and good fortune.

all of this about $10? Do all these "do unto others" also apply when the difference is $75 or $150? Sure, at $10, let's split the diference and move on. But the principle applies at all levels. Maybe I put out a "buy-it-now" at $300 and find out the item was worth $1,000.00 because I just wasn't on top of my game. Do I go to the buyer and say hey, I screwed up here and would like another $700 or so? No. I eat the difference because I should have known better. Jeesh, we are this much "be the better man" over a $10
"mistake" but how would we be over a $100 "mistake"? You know what you bought is worth much more than the asking price, do you offer to pay more because you are such a nice guy? I doubt it, really.
and one last thought...if he charged you $15 shipping and it turned out to be only $5....would he be so concerned about whether to send you the $10 difference? Let's think about that one.
I would pay the 10$ extra to get what i need and want , you may need him aging one day , Good karma goes a long way in life .

And your point is?
Following your logic... we end up with the mess we have now. Every man for himself and screw the next guy before he screws you.
Not the kind of world I want to live in. Thoughtfulness and decency should be encouraged, not discouraged. I do 'hear you' the real world is/can be a mean bee-ach. Doesn't mean it has to be that way.
Amount shouldn't matter. Right is right and wrong is always just wrong. I like to do right regardless of the amount involved. If enough people operate under the same principles of common decency and honesty, the world would be a much better place.
With the ever present proviso, Caveat Emptor.
