From bigz

My Kits aren't vintage, but my current two favourite metal snares are.... Ludwig '72 400, and '79 402. My other current snares are a solid shell highwood, and a 3ply modern vintage Highwood.

I just went there website, Very cool looking drums does he make his own shells?

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I use three, one is my 1979 Ludwig Supra 6.5" x 14" Black Beauty (that I bought new) and the other is a mint 80's Supra 6.5" x 14". I have a 70's Supra 6.5" x 14" to use with a 6 year old Yamaha kit that I gig with. I also have a late 60's Rogers Dynasonic 5" x 14" that I used to play back in the early 70's with my Ludwig Black Panthers, back in the 70's, but I bought a 1967/68 Rogers Londoner WMP kit to go with that snare now. I don't take my vintage Ludwig or Rogers kits to gigs, at least not in the cold months. It's hard to beat... the Ludwig snares for the most part IMHO.
