What collection of drums are you playing? Looks like a little bit of everything... :)
A red sparkle Star set and a WMP Swinglander set combined.
Took me30 years to figure out they weren't Slingerlands.
The photo is distorted from all that Rock N' Roll played at 11!!! The amps went to 11 right? Excited
LOL Right.
Infared film had just come out where you didn't need a flash.
A friend was experimenting, and didn't realize he had to be perfectly still shooting a photo. Hence the blur.
I've been trying to find an old photo of me on the drums and couldn't ,but as we are all friends I just 'had' to take one right now. Hope you don't mind. [Attachment: 86131]. Sorry I can't get my I pad camera to show right way up. This doesn't show my big bald spot on back of my head.
1966... First kit.. MIJ badged "Jason" made by Star.. When I bought these I knew nothing at all about drums and therefore had no idea that they were a Slingerland knock off.. However I always liked the rims and so.. no surprise that my next kit would be the real deal...
Cheers
John
Popsoldskins, you look like one of my 60s psychedelic heroes - pink floyd etc, or maybe west coast, San Francisco stuff.
In the garage with my pearl/maxwin/cb700 junk kit.
My brothers stewart/star kit in the background.
New drums were not in the budget when I was a kid.
The Maxwin bass drum and cb700 floortom were found in a house my brother was working on. I helped set up and tore down at the local music store for Steve Smith's (journey) drum clinic in exchange for the 9x13 Pearl tom.
That christmas my mom bought me a set of SABIAN hihats and a used Paiste 2002 ride.
