Red charger, what ever happened to that Beverley set ? That was a nice set. Bet they were great sounding drums. Love that wrap.
Unfortunately, there aren't any pics of me with my first set. They were a children's drum set from the Sears Christmas catalog. I didn't have them long.
Now that I've seriously been bitten hard by the drumming bug, I want to set up a Ludwig blue sparkle double-kick drum set to honor my favorite drummer, Ronnie Tutt. However, that's going to be happening a couple of years down the road because I've got a big debt that I want to get rid of first. That kit is the last thing on my "bucket list" of things to do. It's just too bad that I live in an area where it's very difficult to get/find people who want to help you achieve a goal you've set for yourself. :(
Great thread
I have only one photo of me with my first kit - Christmas 65
I wish I still had my 'stovepipe' legged pants!

I noticed in your profile that you are of an age that, barring any special circumstances, you can decide to move to an area where it might be more conducive to find people willing to help you achieve your goals. I'm one of many people I know who did exactly that. Good luck in whatever you choose to do. But, please don't put all the blame on where you live and the people there preventing you from achieving your goals. You didn't ask for advice. But, the wording of your post seemed to beg for consolation--maybe advice.

Unfortunately it's "in the wind". I recall selling it to a local kid in Northeast Ohio when I bought my Stainless Steel Big Beat kit in 1978. I've often wondered about both the Beverley and the old Radio Kings.
I was too young to know how to get drums to sound the way they're supposed to. I'm sure the heads were trashed. I always liked Beverley's logo with the drum stick underline!
