Check out this image. It"s true. I can honestly say that I have been fortunate to have experienced through the years of my career, some of the most beautiful women you could ever imagine. . Ahh the memories. Still not to bad here in Palm Beach and the treasure coast. Some fine divorcee's come out to have a good time at the live music venues. Ohhh and drums. I just use relatively small sets live now. I just make sure there clean, shiny, beautiful, and sound good.

That diagram sums it up perfectly.

And yes......West Palm Beach is a virtual cornucopia of top shelf bootay of the highest percentile across all age groups but truly excels in the over 30 segment.

One wine tasting attended in west palm will net more action (and higher quality action) than winning 900 karaoke contests singing "muskrat love" in Winchester, Virginia.

As far as toms, I've noticed that when the girls run to the kit and sit down, thier "roll" almost always consists of hitting 3 toms 4 times each with the last hit being a single on either a floor tom or a cymbal.

They usually repeat it once, explore the other drums and cymbals, and return to the toms to perform the same roll one more time before they stand up and start exploring the rest of the place.

They usually ignore any mounted toms beyond 3 and will ignore one floor tom if you have two.

I've been observing this behavior since the early 1980s and it's almost always the same sequence.

HAHAHA

I totally misunderstood this post. HAHAHA!!!

I thought this was actually about drums. HAHAHA!!!

I hate to break it to you guys but the guy with the Ferrari and the diamond watch, pickin up the tabs at the end of the bar is gettin way more ***** than any drummer playin a Neil Peart tribute kit.

Sorry to rain on yer parade.

Agreed, Southern Cali chix must be a sight.

Any way, continue.

Ahhhh but some women realize a truly gifted drummer has something money can't buy. Just like the wealthy parents who spend thousands of dollars on lessons, and buy the best instrument money can buy, hopeing their child will be another Virtuoso just by being with their naturally gifted teacher. Many are called but few are chosen. Hence ,all the money in the world can't buy genuine talent. No matter how many toms you have. Plus, drummers do it with rythm. Keep on Pl

I hope people realize this is all in fun.

I don't remember girls running up to play my drums, they were already in the back of my Chevy by then. lol!

I started playing in the 60s with one up, one down, then a 5 pc., eventually added an extra floor tom, and by the late 70s early 80s, 3 across, 2 floors, but when the money stopped growing, the stages started shrinking (or disappearing altogether) I started bringing less stuff.

I have a huge kit at home (12 toms) but I gig with one up, one down, ride and 2 crashes. Just easier to set up and more space. I'm still getting the same 100 - 150 a night that I got in the 80s, only difference is that back then I could get a Bud for a buck! i'm not going to spend an hour setting up for that money! When I've played big venues, I'll bring more gear.

Next time you are at a drum clinic to see a well respected drummer. Turn around and see if there are any women.

I was the drummer with a touring band back in the mid-70s. The girls were always around and available. Mostly nice girls, just looking for a little excitement. It was a time when women were sexually liberated and STDs were uncommon.

Fun memories!

My kit:
Ludwig Vistalite Big Beat set consisting of:
14” X 22” bass, 16” X 16” floor tom, 8” X 12” ride tom, 9” X 13” ride tom, 5” X 14” snare

That's true

I saw a drum clinic here a while ago, with someone famous playing (can't recall who!)...and I turned around, and Kid Rocks drummer,Stephanie, was behind me!

I asked her if she drove in from Detroit (150 miles away) for the clinic, and she said yes!

From HowlerMonkey

I rarely see kits with more than 2 mounted toms any more. When girls come over, the first thing they do is jump behind the kit and roll across all of the toms.A few remarked that they like more toms than less toms.Is it because drummers want to be seen more than in the past and a row of toms obscures the view?Has the entertaining of female company become less important?

I would suggest the next time they say they like more toms, ask them to be your roady at your gigs and they can set up as many toms as they like, but only if their are frienge benifits.Kiss
