Will the real drummer please stand up? Last viewed: 26 minutes ago

Just going to throw this in because I've got so many old friends playing there...there is Nashville. There are so many amazing pocket drummers in Country Music territory that it's hard for even a good drummer to get a gig in a club. I have many friends that play with big name acts & these guys are PLAYERS...these are a bunch of old Rock'nRollers that went to the dark side. When you think about it, modern Country is nothing but old R'nR with a twang!

Had an audition set-up years ago with Lori Morgan when she was hot on the charts. After talking to my friend Spuddy (her keyboard player) and a few other friends in the 'ville, decided to stay in Alabama...often wonder if I could have cracked the Studio Clan up there...should've, could've, would've.

> DRUMS ARE NOT A SOLO INSTRUMENT!!!If you don't like this opinion- STUFF IT!!!! I am sick and tired of unsolicited negative opinions!!!!Bunny - First... I'm going to send a really good herbal tea. No caffeine! LOLAnd... I'll give you a 'positive' opinion to your comment that; 'drums are not a solo instrument.' Allow me to introduce you to one of my all time hero's. And through him, allow me to introduce you to the 'art' of the drum solo.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrKShqNkcnII can listen to this stuff all night long! It really depends on 'who' is playing the solo.Peace...John

That is one of my all time favorite clips. Papa Jo had an amazing feel and touch...leaves me with a smile almost as big as his!

Kevins that is a dynamic sound and as you say it was released this year and thats great news because it seems that our music has gone full circle and is coming our way again. I,am almost 70 still playing and when it reaches the point where I cannot play I,ll gladly let my ears relive the music. I,ll keep my eyes on this band.

I agree with fungus, new country muscians are great rock & rollers with a slighly different sound, but not much.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Love the drummer in the video and the bass player but they seriously need a guitar player but it is a bright spot to hear that type of music today maybe all is not lost but it is still in the dark woods... A very good friend of mine is a Nashville session guitar player regarded by most as the very best and he plays it all but his heart is in blues and Jazz he plays the opry and he has told me about all the old drummers working in CW now if that was the only gig I could get I would quit and flip burgers modern CW id some of the most hedious music I have ever heard and talk about fakers they all dress and try and act like rock stars someone need to tell them the job is already taken...

Appetite for destruction a great LP for the most part but where are they now Axel Rose is a joke and he is the only member touring now... one lp does not a decade of music make..... I think Yoda said that.... he was oh so right I stick to what I said the 80's hair bands were but mere shadows of the bands of the 60's and 70's It is my story and I am stickin to it.... :)

Talk about speed... lol I have very little in the tank now at 61 I can not play "rock and roll" by Led zep anymore with the ghost notes them days are gone and that was my standard that song..... but i can beat hell out of Kashmir.... ExcitedExcitedExcited

Agree to disagree. I will never cede the point that the 80's hair metal isn't the best music ever. I wouldn't trade you one of my worn out Dokken cassette tapes for all of your Beattles stuff if it was signed by the band and delivered by Ringo Starr!

have a wonderful evening

Gotdam! Now, that's what I'm talking about! Those boys can play!

All is -not- lost!

It's ALIVE!

John

PS - Did my soul some good to hear Rock & Roll played like that in 2011. I thought that Spirit had abandoned us.

Too many great drums to list here!

Objectively very talented but honestly they did nothing for me, sounds like they are trying way too hard to be Zeppelin.

If I can throw in my two bits for modern bands keeping the spirit alive... Clutch is where its at
