Ok, Farnes and 510, David and I have figured out that my catalog that was listed 1922 is really the 1919 catalog, but good news I do have the 1922 catalog!!! Farnes who ever owned this drum kit and percussion Items, was not an amerature musician, time bought 1919-1923 which is where your dates,he had this complete drum kit and the Xylophone, and the other stuff!!Farnes I have listed what your kit is called in another posting if you didn't see it, but the drum kit is called the the professional outfit #1, this is good stuff!

vintagemore -- I'm loving this news! I'm getting so much enjoyment from this kit I can't tell you. Oh man I wish I bought the tambourine and China drum.

Is there any chance of your 1922 catalog getting added to VDF? I hope I'm not overstepping by asking. I'm just excited at the moment.

When I have a chance I want to take some photos of the odd hardware I'm trying to figure out.

Yeah, this is a good thread, and yes I wish you had gotten the rest of it also, and David and I are working on it, so we will see, I hope we are able to also add it to the library, Farnes as I stated previously this wasn't an amerature musican, can you go back where you bought it and do some research on it??

I just found webpage called Drum Kit Evolution. It actually talks about this model kit (under 1919 and 1920 entries). It mentions various pieces that came with the kit, ;ike a 14x4 snare drum. I also have the triangle, tube woodblock, castanet, slide whistle, and a ratchet. The ratchet has no logo and might not be Ludwig. Just need that Chinese drum and tambourine.

I'm still baffled about some of the hardware, but I did recognized the sort of inverted cymbal stand that hangs over the kick from the cover of the 1923 Ludwig catalog posted here at VDF. Pinch me.

Farnes - If that slide whistle is what Ludwig called a “Song Whistle” it was a big item in Ludwig sales and promotion in 1922. Visit the thread at the link below and slide down to Jan. 6, 1923 to read about it.

Agghh! I can't find the link to the catalogs! I'm having a lapse here ( a painful one!). Where is that catalog?

Thank you vmore!!!

And thank you too 510 for the slide whistle link.

On the odd chance. . . does anyone know of any recordings that they know feature a Professional Outfit kit?
