Here it says how drummers of that time were called upon to supply sound effects for stage and silent film. I'm getting a kcik out this esoecually because my grandfather (who has passed away) was a violinist who actually played in silent movie theaters back then (he was actually a classical player).

Wicked score man! That is really great. Not sure if I missed it, but did you go back for the other drum and tambourine?

Deagan instruments are the best. I had a very small xylophone that I got for $20 and sold for $70; looking back I wish I would've held on to it.

Tillerva - thanks for the link to Deagen. The xylo is a "Drummers Special" #842. It's missing the legs, though. Still sounds in perfect tune!
